ShinyShack Promotes Dragon's Den Gifts for Christmas

London, UK (PRWEB) September 11, 2008 -- ShinyShack, the leading supplier of unusual gift ideas (http://www.shinyshack.com) in the UK, is promoting a selection of products in its Christmas range which were originally featured on the BBC's Dragon's Den program.

Dragon's Den challenged entrepreneurs to pitch to venture capitalists, became a surprise hit, and is now running through its sixth season.

The products supplied by ShinyShack did not always receive a positive welcome from the investors, but many have become top sellers in their own right.

1. Space Putty (http://www.shinyshack.com/search.php?st=Space+Putty) was put to the Dragons by Jeremy Whitticase, looking for £75,000 to expand his business. His request was rejected, but Space Putty has since become a top Christmas seller and now covers multiple types.

2. The Bedlam Cube Puzzle (http://www.shinyshack.com/product.php?prid=211121&pn=Bedlam-Cube-Puzzle) was presented by Danny Bamping to the Dragons, and was offered £100,000 for a 15% stake in the company. However, Danny turned the money down and went for a bank loan instead. The Bedlam cube has become another hot Christmas seller.

3. Orikaso Fold Flat Tableware (http://www.shinyshack.com/product.php?prid=211580&pn=Orikaso-Fold-Flat-Tableware-Set) also saw entrepreneur Jay Cousins receive offers from the Dragons, and turned them all down. With its literally flexible usage, it's been especially popular for people travelling.

4. The PooPod (http://www.shinyshack.com/product.php?prid=212197&pn=PooPod) was pitched by Sue Bell to the Dragons, who all thought the product was great, but too limited to make an investment in. However, the PooPod is fast selling as a cleaner and simpler alternative to plastic bags for clearing dogs' mess.

5. YouDoo Doll was pitched by Sarah Lu and taken up by the Dragons who helped streamline the presentation of the unique self-making doll.

Overall, despite the economic slowdown, online retailers are expecting a strong Christmas by comparison to high street sales, and ShinyShack has made it plain that they intend to be a leader in this.

According to Anna Clare, ShinyShack's "Keeper of the Magic," "Christmas is a particular good time for retailers to offer alternative lines for purchase. Christmas sales for 2008 are likely to show that shoppers are still looking for more imaginative presents to the traditional 'pair of socks and knitted jumpers' as gift ideas."

ShinyShack also has a list of recommended stocking fillers (http://www.shinyshack.com/category.php?catid=85&cn=Stocking-Fillers).
